SFO
Past 2 visits we visited SFO in a friend's car but this time we decided to travel via CalTrain and roam around SFO in Muni. Amazingly we were able to cover lot more places and that's the beauty of traveling by public transport.
We just started early and took the 8 AM Caltrain from Lawrence Caltrain station, Sunnyvale.
We visited the following places:
- Pier 39
- Fishermans Wharf
- Ghiradelli Square
- Cable Car and downtown
- Painted ladies
- Transamerica pyramid building
- Union Square
- Chinatown
Pier 39
We had visited this place already but thought of visiting again. You can just spend time here visiting all the eateries or playing all the gaming attractions.
Also, you can see the sea lions(we haven't seen them till now). You can plan and go by viewing the live cam pier39.com/sealions
You can also get to see the view of Alcatraz island.
Fishermans Wharf
We went here majorly to go inside the USS Pampanito submarine. Along the way, we saw old Pier 43.
Also, we visited Musée Mécanique, a museum of old coin-operated arcade machines.
Ghiradelli square
Next up we visited Ghiradelli square to have the world-famous hot fudge sundae ice cream.
Cable Car
This should be a must to do in your bucket list. We took Powell/ Hyde line. It starts near Ghiradellu and ends at Powell and market street. It's one hell of a ride.
Painted ladies
If you are a fan of the fuller house tv series, you are in for a treat. Presenting to you the famous painted ladies.
Transamerica pyramid
The cone-shaped building is the Transamerica pyramid and in the foreground Columbus tower building
Union Square
Ah, men and their fascination for pillars!
Chinatown
Tell me a city without Chinatown!
